Born and raised in PEI, Matt Kelly is a graduate of Dalhousie University’s School of Physiotherapy and a former graduate student at McGill University where he studied in the Ice Hockey Research Lab. Matt comes from a hockey background, being a former hockey player himself, playing Junior A for the Summerside Western Capitals.
Matt has been involved in sports physiotherapy since he was in university. Matt received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from UPEI, where he was the head student therapist for the Men’s Hockey Varsity Panthers for 2 years. During his time at Dalhousie, he worked with many different sports teams including some work with Hockey Nova Scotia’s High-Performance program. Matt has also worked with elite-level high school, college, and professional athletes throughout his career. Matt has also had the opportunity to work with and learn from some very well-known sports physiotherapists.
Matt’s interests include prevention and rehabilitation of FAI, hip labrum pathology, hip and shoulder instability, low back pain, and performance training as well as end-stage rehabilitation programs.
